ANA, ANNA,
the sixteenth part of a rupee. (Hindustani.) Hind. ána
(written áná in Skt.), the sixteenth of a rupee, commonly, but incorrectly,
written anna. Also used as a measure, to express a sixteenth part of
a thing; H. H. Wilson, Gloss. of Indian Terms, p. 24.
