ANTERIOR,
before, more in front. (Lat.) Sir T. Browne, Vulg. Errors, b.
iii. c. 15. §
3, has anteriour; but this is ill spelt, and due to confusion between the
suffixes -our and -or. The word is borrowed directly
from Lat. anterior, more in front, compar. adj. from Lat. ante,
before. See Ante-.
