BLAZE (2),  to spread far and wide; to proclaim. (E.)  'Began to blaze abroad the matter;' Mark, i. 45.   M. E. blasen, used by Chaucer to express the loud sounding of a trumpet; Ho. of Fame, iii. 711 (see extract under Blare).—A.
