CAPERCAILZIE,
a species of grouse. (Gael.) The z is here
no z, but a modern printer's way of representing the old ȝ,
much better represented by y; thus the word is really capercailyie.
[Similarly Menzies stands for Menyies, and Dalziel for
Dalyiel.]
