IMMINENT, projecting
over, near at hand. (L.) 'Against the sinne imminent or
to come;' Sir T. More, Works, p. 370 b.—Lat. imminent-, stem of pres.
part. of imminere, to project over.—Lat. im- = in,
upon, over; and minere, to jut out. See Eminent.
