ADLARD.   A baptismal name meaning "the son of Adelard" or "Athelard"; v. Allard.   Adelhard was a cousin of Charlemagne, and Abbot of Corbie.  (Yonge, ii. 399).  

Yonge gives the meaning "nobly firm."
