AMNER.   An official name meaning "the amner," i.e. almoner, a distributor of alms in a religious house or household.   "Was Jesu Crist ammoner?" 1300, Cursor Mundi, 15219.   "Dr Fox the Kynges Amner made an eloquent oracion in Latin":  1548, Hall, Chron. 790 (H.E.D.).
