ANGLE.
Bardsley has: A local name meaning "in the Angle," i.e. nook,
corner; from residence in some nook or corner of the road. "Go,
run, search, pry in every nook and angle of the kitchens, larders, and
pastries": The Woman Hater, i. 2; v. Nangle, and cf. Herne and Wray;
v. Angel. For
Angle and Angel, Arthur has: (Greek) From ἄγγελος, a messenger; also the name of a town in France
where the family may have originated.
