ANGUISH.
A local name meaning "of Angus,"
N.B. Although most of the instances occur in co. Norfolk, it will be
seen that they are of comparatively modern date. They represent an
immigration from the north. There can be no doubt about the
origin. It is simply imitative, as was the custom in spelling or
even pronouncing surnames.
