ANTROBUS.   A local name meaning "of Antrobus," a township in the parish of Great Budworth, co. Cheshire.  Apart from the well-known family of that name and place, many Antrobus's may be seen in the Lanc. and Cheshire directories.  They may represent junior branches of centuries ago or separate stocks.  This surname has crossed the Atlantic.
