A
baptismal name meaning "the son of
Arnulf"; v. Arnolf, Yonge, ii. 282. Just as Randolph
or Randulf became Randle,
so Arnulf, no doubt, became Arnull, and thus was lost in Arnell
and other variants of Arnold,
