Origin of the Surname DANGER.

DANGER.
A corruption of D'Angier, that is, from Angier, a town in France.
Lower says, a person named Danger kept a public house near Cambridge on the
Huntingdon road. On being compelled to quit his house, he built an inn on
the opposite side of the road, and placed beneath his sign "Danger
from over the way," whereupon his successor in the old hotel, inscribed
over his door, "There is no Danger here now."
