A native of Scotland. Nennius uses both Scythoe and Scotti
indifferently. Strabo considers Scythoe and Nomades
synonymous terms. The original word in Ossian is Scuta, which
literally signifies "restless wanderer," hence the propriety of the
name Scuite or Scot.
